Quarantined Diamond Princess guests to receive full refund

With a further 60 cases of coronavirus impacting Princess Cruises, Diamond Princess, the cruise line’s President has announced that all passengers onboard the stricken vessel that is quarantined in Yokohama (Japan) will receive a full refund.

In a letter to passengers on-board, Jan Swartz said: “I truly thank you for your perseverance and understanding as we do our best to manage the current situation.

“In light of these extraordinary circumstances, I wish to reassure guests will receive a full refund of their cruise”

“I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone, and particularly thank you for your understanding and kindness towards our hard-working crew members. The entire Princess cruises team, onboard and ashore, is working to do everything we can to assist you during this time.”

Guests will also receive a refund for all funds paid to the cruise line, including Princess Air, pre or post cruise hotels, transfers, pre-paid shore excursions, gratuities as well as taxes and port fees.

Each guest will also receive a 100% future cruise certificate equal to the cruise fare paid.
